People with a taste for vintage vehicles will have a reason to sit down in front of the television as The Classic Car Show is set to be aired on Channel 5.
The show is based around the stories, glamour and passion that make up the multi-billion pound global classic car industry. It will be shown during peak time from February and will be hosted by the classic car journalist and founding Top Gear presenter, Quentin Wilson, as well as supermodel and racing driver Jodie Kidd.
There will be a number of celebrity contributions to the show, which will be 13 episodes long. Among those who will be involved in the show are Steve Coogan, Jennifer Saunders, David Gandy and Tinie Tempah. There will also be some racing stars involved; Bruno Senna and Sir Stirling Moss will be making appearances on the show.
What’s more, there will be feature stories from around the world. Quentin Wilson will be heading to California to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Ford Mustang, while Jodie Kidd will be driving a Jaguar XK120 in the Mille Miglia rally in Italy. What’s more, Bruno Senna will be driving ten classic cars around the Brooklands circuit.
Speaking about the show, Ms Kidd said: “Classic cars are beautiful, sexy and evocative; when you climb in and turn the key something magical happens. The Classic Car Show is a VIP, backstage pass to one of the most exciting and exhilarating forms of art that we have.”
Mr Wilson expressed his delight at the fact that Channel 5 will be showing The Classic Car Show. He said that the show is driven by the number of people who have a passion for classic cars as well as the growth around the globe of auction prices on high end vehicles, like Ferraris.
“No-one has done what we are doing ever before. We’ve got gorgeous cars, passionate stories, an extraordinary filming budget and endless enthusiasm,” he added.
