The doors have now officially closed on Autosport International for another year, and it’s safe to say that this year’s show kicked off in style!
The show was celebrating its 25th anniversary this year and had an amazing line up of motoring celebrities, including former F1 star and BBC F1 presenter David Coulthard opening the show, alongside the World Rallycross Champion, Petter Solberg. Motorsport stars at the show also included Allan McNish, Matt Neal and Colin Turkington with appearances from the BTCC and Wales Rally display.
The 4 days to see this show were most certainly needed as the largest indoor, pre-season show was scattered with classic Formula 1’s and race cars, pretty much re creating motor enthusiasts dreams.
To see some of these classics in their full glory, 5,000 motorists attended the live action arena, which was reported live on Autosport’s website by Sky Sports F1 presenter, David Croft. Formula 1 celebrities were also at the show, and attendees with VIP tickets were able to meet and greet their heroes.
The show also saw its value in supercars across the weekend, with several brands having at least one on their pitch!
Speaking of supercars, our friends over at Grove & Dean were lucky enough to present the exclusive Oakley Design, Lamborghini Huracan on their stand, to which their lovely promo girls (Some you may recognise from Performance Directs shows) unveiled at 12pm on the Thursday of the 4 day show!
The Modified Lamborghini Huracan had hundreds of stander’s by taking photos and videos of the Lamborghini.
This little ride-in toy car has also had the modified treatment, with an oil-cooler, flared arches and cambered wheels. Start them young!
JapSpeed also revealed their latest drift-car, which will be driven by Shane Lynch. The 370Z (Z34) has undergone a huge transformation, being stripped down to an empty shell, blasted back to bare metal and has been modified from the ground up! Keep an eye out in this years BDC (British Drift Championship) for this Zed going sideways.
For some serious sideways action requires some serious suspension set-ups!
Renault had thier RS01 on display dressed in all black! It’s something Batman would drive if he was racing-driver as oppose to a Super Hero – don’t you think?
Noble where also present at the show, opposite the Grove & Dean stand, with Mr Peter Dyson him self present during all 4 days. As you can see below, Noble has on display the M600 alongside their prototype “Speedster”.
