It has been 60 years since Lamborghini built its first mid-engine supercar, and to mark the occasion the Italian icon has revealed the rather wonderful Revuelto Miura 60° Homage. Bucking the obvious trend, Lamborghini is building 99 of them through its Ad Personam personalisation programme rather than the predictable 60, and that is something to be thankful for.
The V12-engined special edition broke cover at Monterey Car Week in California this August, shown off alongside a gathering of classic Miuras.

The 1966 Lamborghini Miura
The Miura was first shown to the public at the Geneva Motor Show in 1966 as a mid-engined 3.9-litre V12 coupe. Many later proclaimed it to effectively be the world’s first supercar, and with good reason. It was groundbreaking not just for its looks but for its pace, able to reach over 180mph with a 0 to 60mph of around 6.3 seconds. Bearing in mind the year was 1966, that was startling, and it made the Miura the fastest production car in the world at the time.
Only 764 were ever built, yet the little Lamborghini seduced the famous and the fast in equal measure. Rod Stewart, Frank Sinatra and Miles Davis all owned one, and a Miura opened The Italian Job in the most gloriously Italian way imaginable. Six decades on, that is quite a legacy to live up to.
Revuelto Miura Colours and Interior
The Revuelto Miura 60° Homage reinterprets some of the Miura’s styling for Lamborghini’s HPEV (High Performance Electrified Vehicle) era, creating a modern V12 hybrid with one foot firmly in 1966. It is offered in nine heritage colours: Arancio, Rosso Arancio, Bianco Monocerus, Blu Tahiti, Blu Notte, Giallo, Nero Noctis, Verde Scandal and Verde Metallic, with the lower bodywork finished in a contrasting shade.
There are two heritage-inspired liveries to choose from: Oro Elios with Altanero Shiny Gold wheels, or Grigio Nimbus with Altanero Matt Titanium Diamond wheels. To make sure people know exactly what you have, a ‘Miura 60’ logo sits above the ‘Revuelto’ script by the rear wheel arch, joined by a glossy black ‘Lamborghini’ badge at the back, just like the original 1966 car.
Slip inside and the homage carries on. The seats revive the Miura’s famous ‘cannelloni’ stitching, that ribbed, almost pasta-like pattern collectors go weak at the knees for, wrapped in tan leather that runs across the tunnel, doors and the bulkhead behind your head. Between the seats sits ‘Miura 60’ embroidery, and over on the driver’s side a numbered carbon-fibre plaque reads ‘Miura 60° – Serie Speciale 1 di 99’, just so there is no doubt which of the 99 you happen to be sitting in.
There is one lovely touch for the truly fortunate. If you already own an original Miura, Lamborghini’s Ad Personam team will match your new Revuelto to it, right down to the exact factory colour, even if that shade is not one of the nine on the menu.
Revuelto Miura Power
Mechanically, nothing has been touched, and no one will complain about that. Power comes from the regular 6.5-litre V12 working with three electric motors for a combined 1,015 CV (about 1,001 hp) and a 0 to 62mph of just 2.5 seconds. Top speed is 217mph, though I expect very few of the 99 to ever get near it.
A Familiar, and Welcome, Playbook
If the format feels familiar, it should. Lamborghini pulled the same trick in 2016, when 50 Aventador Miura Homages marked the Miura’s 50th anniversary. The playbook has barely changed since, and in fairness it did not need to. Developed by Ad Personam alongside Lamborghini Centro Stile at Sant’Agata Bolognese, this is heritage sold the way Lamborghini does it best: sparingly, and with genuine reverence
Lamborghini 60th Celebratory Events
Lamborghini has been marking the anniversary with events worldwide, including a Polo Storico tour dedicated to the Miura and organised by its Heritage department, which took place in Italy during May. Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, has spoken often of the model’s significance, describing how its revolutionary architecture and uncompromising performance defined the very concept of the supercar and set the company on a path of fearless innovation.
