A Smart Roadster has picked up an unlikely win in this year's London to Athens Endurance Rally, beating a host of supercars along the way.
Al Young and his wife Fiona drove the Roadster to victory over 4,000 miles of rough terrain, registering a better time than a number of Porsche, Jaguar and Lotus models along the way.
The pair were able to average 40 mph over the course, excellent work considering the many tricky roads they had to navigate during the race, as well as the fact they reversed into a ditch at one point.
"There's just one word to sum up the Smart – 'incredible'. For sure, we weren't the fastest, but we made up for it with superb roadholding on the mountain passes and the car's faultless reliability," Mr Young commented.
Smart also picked up another accolade earlier this month, with the manufacturer's ForTwo model being named the joint-second most reliable vehicle in Europe over the last 12 months.
It was tied with the Skoda Fabia and just pipped to top spot by the Mercedes-Benz E-Class.
