Fans of the iconic Ducati Monster are being urged to get involved with the motorcycle manufacturer's celebrations for the vehicle's 20th birthday.

The company is inviting owners and enthusiasts of the Monster to share their stories, images and experiences of the motorcycle as part of an exhibition that is to take place at this year's Motorcycle Live at the NEC Birmingham.

Running from November 24th to December 2nd, the event will be a showcase of the Monster's history and will feature many of the items offered by past and present owners, with the Motorcycle Live stand featuring a section entitled 'Monster Tales'.

Claudio Domenicali, general manager of Ducati Motor Holding, stated: "This model redefined the parameters of the naked segment and our new Monster Anniversary is dressed in the original livery of that very first version."

A special Ducati UK Monster 20th Anniversary page has been set up on social networking site Facebook for fans to offer their tributes.

Individuals who get involved with the celebrations will also be entered into a free prize draw by Ducati UK that could see them winning a number of prizes, including specially-commissioned 20th anniversary Monster keyrings.

One lucky entrant will also receive the free loan of a 2012 version of the Monster for three months from the vehicle manufacturer.

Furthermore, anyone featured in the Monster Tales exhibition will receive a free Ducati umbrella if they head to the stand at the event.

Earlier this month, the vehicle manufacturer announced an update to its model line-up for 2013, revealing anniversary versions of the Monster 696, 796 and 1100EVO.

In addition, the firm unveiled its new-look 1199 Panigale RS13 for 2013, which will be taking part in next year's World Superbike series.

"Ducati has entered a new era," commented Gabriele Del Torchio, chief executive officer of Ducati. "Being part of such a prominent and significant group as Volkswagen makes us look to the future with confidence and optimism."
