The return of the US bike maker Victory may signal the start of increased demand for American muscle motorbikes. Victory’s first new model will be the Octane, which features a stunning 1179cc V-twin engine and is capable of producing 104 bhp. Despite being a cruiser, it is estimated the bike will cover the quarter mile in 12 seconds and do 0 to 60 mph in four seconds.
Details of the new bike have been slowly leaked in recent months but this is the first time official images have been released by Victory – with fans of statement bikes not disappointed by the tough exterior.
This bike is meant to look mean, with designers deliberately staying away from shiny chrome and retaining as much grey bodywork as possible.
“We want to bring the American motorcycle into the 21st Century,” explained Mike Song, chief designer of the new Victory model.
He added: “Octane is for anyone who likes excitement. It handles well, offers a lot of performance, and contemporary styling to go with it.”
The Octane will be available to buy from June in the UK and prices for the base model start at £9,799.
