Lotus is already impressive when it comes to performance, so when we say they’ve just unveiled their most powerful road-going sports car yet, you know it’s gonna be something special.
The Evora GT430 is what happens when elegance and power meet, at least that’s what Lotus says.
It is powered by a 3.5-litre supercharged V6 with 424bhp and considering it weighs just 1,258kg, the lightning Lotus can dart to 60mph from a standing start in 3.7 seconds, with a 190mph top speed.
That exceptional performance is matched by some exemplary design measures too, such as new, specifically designed body panels featuring exposed carbon weave sections which generate up to 250kg of downforce through advanced aerodynamics.
Other features include larger front apertures, a new carbon fibre splitter, air blades and louvers positioned on top of each front wheel arch.
Around the back, aero ducts behind each wheel reduce pressure in the wheel arch and let you see the wider Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres. The sharp look is capped off by a large rear diffuser.
Jean-Marc Gales, chief executive of Group Lotus, said the Evora GT430 was “a landmark car for Lotus”.
He added: “Lightweight engineering and class-leading handling, paired with Lotus’ aerodynamic expertise, define the Evora GT430 as a legendary Lotus.
“It’s a truly beautiful car, meticulously finished in hand-crafted carbon, and employing the latest aerodynamics and lightweight materials.”
As special as the Lotus Evora GT430 sounds, only 60 will ever be built, each costing £112,500, meaning only the most passionate – and affluent – Lotus fans will get chance to see what it can do firsthand.
