The LA Motor Show is always one of the first events put down on any motoring enthusiast’s calendar, with the event consistently delivering some of the very best in modern vehicle design and future road models.

Best of the LA Motor Show

A number of the leading manufacturers were in attendance, showing off exactly why their new machines are ready to take the world by storm.

Here is just a selection of some of the incredible vehicles that were on display at the annual event.

Jaguar F-Type

The all-new model from Jaguar was unveiled following an extensive marketing campaign, which teased the design little-by-little to excited fans.

Jaguar F Type

Jaguar’s most dedicated of followers could access hidden codes in promotional material to get additional sneak peeks of the car. Leading up to the release, the #FromTheShadows project intensified, and LA provided the opportunity for the car to step into the light.

The sleek design, the typical Jaguar grille stylings, and its mean expression really made the car stand out in LA. While the 3.0-litre V6 supercharged petrol engine under the bonnet will not have been demonstrated to its full capability, drivers will have to get behind the wheel to experience the coupe as it flies from 0-60mph in just 4.8 seconds.

Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision GT Concept

So it’s not a car we are likely to see out and about anytime soon, but it didn’t stop the Mercedes-Benz from being one of the most desired models on display.

Designed in conjunction with the release of the latest in the Gran Turismo video game franchise, the car harked back to times where motor shows provided the chance for manufacturers to showcase the weird and wacky, rather than the latest model off the production line.

The low height, smooth body and rippling curves make the car intoxicatingly stunning. However, fans will probably have to get behind a video game controller rather than the wheel if they ever want to experience driving it.

2014 Mini Cooper

Ah, MINI. Good old dependable MINI. You might not be too elaborate when you release a new car, but you don’t have to be. We love you just the way you are.

In LA, the car was put out on the stand in burnt yellow, filling the room with the warmth and fun that we associate with the iconic car.

Despite not seeing many aesthetic changes, the manufacturer assures us that the model is all new from front to back, providing new technologies and more interior space.

2014 Porsche Macan

After the success of the Porsche Cayenne, the manufacturer has been shifting its focus to the SUV market, with the latest model demonstrating its foray into the premium compact SUV segment.

The slightly more compact model will bridge the gap between the sports car versions and the more burly Cayenne.
Ford Edge concept

Perhaps a more modest inclusion on the list, but nonetheless just as important. The Ford Edge SUV will be making its way to Europe this year after similar models have appeared successfully on roads across the pond.

Ford Edge

The muscular model will come with the technology, style and craftmanship that Fords are expected to see in the years ahead.

It is a model that is both sporty and practical and will satisfy the appetites of those who enjoy a little bit of power and brute force in a car.
