Globally-renowned luxury vehicle manufacturer Aston Martin is all set to embark on a year of celebration, with the company commemorating 100 years of production in 2013.
The firm's centenary will launch on January 15th next year and the manufacturer plans to highlight the occasion by showcasing its oldest production model in existence – the Aston Martin A3 – alongside its new Aston Martin Vanquish.
In addition, the Aston Martin Heritage Trust Walter Hayes Memorial Lecture is to take place in London, which will aim to tell the story of the early days of the marque.
Building on this initial flurry of activity, Aston Martin is also planning a grand showcase of its most famous models as part of a Centenary Week that is to be held at the manufacturer's exclusive Gaydon headquarters from July 15th to 21st.
The event will culminate in a 1,000 guest invitation-only 'birthday party' for the company on Saturday the 20th, with a Centenary Concours showcase to be held in the capital the following day.
Furthermore, to mark this landmark occasion and to help its vehicles stand out from the crowd, Aston Martin has also commissioned a special centenary logo that will be bestowed on all its cars in 2013.
The design is based on nautilus shell and will feature 99 points perfectly arranged in an elegant helix surrounding the current brand logo. This will be topped with a prominent red 100 to mark the celebration year.
One of the most luxury and sought-after brands of the last 99 years, the manufacturer is particularly popular among classic car enthusiasts, with a 1965 Aston Martin DB5 owned by Keith Clements of Essex recently making it into the final four of this year's Classic Car of the Year award at the recent Classic Motor Show at Birmingham's NEC.
