As one of the leading modified car shows, it’s no surprise that thousands of people gathered at TRAX on the 2nd September to see all that was on offer! Held at the famed Silverstone Circuit, TRAX rocked the scene with new areas and innovative showcases including the TRAX Live Action Area and live rounds of the Maxxis British Drift Championship (BDC).
The BDC certainly impressed drift fans, with the likes of Fredric Aasbo and Mark Luney gaining top scores, displaying incredible drift skills.
The smell of burning rubber filled the air as guests enjoyed the talent and expertise on display by the competitors of the championship. A battle of the burn until the very last lap!
Hype grew as Aasbo not only won the championship but sped round the track in an awesome, modified Toyota GT86. New on the scene but firmly standing its ground, helping to cement overall first place for Fredric.
It was good to see all drift cars with their rightful owners this year, rather than shooting down the M25!
Both professionals and the public rubbed shoulders, as crowds flocked to witness the different events at the circuit. Amongst attractions of the day, were the skills demonstrated by renowned stuntman, Terry Grant. He set a high standard with unbelievable motor stunts with not one but two vehicles together!
An extremely popular spot was the Retail Area where a few lovely Maxxis ladies graced the stalls along with their Maxxis Babe bus, offering a picture for many budding photographers.
Over 16,000 car enthusiasts attended this year’s TRAX and it looks like the specialist car event is set to keep on growing.
Nerves built from the competitors and spectators as they edged towards the starting line at Silverstone.
Viewers were amazed with all that TRAX had to offer and from the moment the site opened at 9am to closing doors at 5pm, a buzz was felt throughout the whole day.
