Skoda, a brand, which over recent years has become more and more popular with cars such as the Octavia VRS and Fabia VRS. One market Skoda hasn’t really catered for is the SUV market.
Yes they did release the Skoda Yeti but I don’t think it is as popular as they hoped it would be. Personally, it looks a bit like a glorified Fiat Panda.
But this latest concept design may open up a new market for the Czech car manufactures, especially if it turns out to be as stylish as the drawings make it out to be. Here is the Skoda Vision S, the brand’s first seven-seater vehicle and also their first SUV.
It will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show next month. Skoda is planning on release a new range of SUV over the coming years with the Vision S being the Land Rover Discovery’s main contender. So this gives you an idea on how big the Vision S could potentially be.
The design is similar to the Fabia Superb, with the headlights thinned out and the grill given a bit of a makeover. If you notice on the rear there is a crease line on the boot-lid, similar to that of the Volkswagen Scirocco.
In terms of the power plant to push the Vision S along will predominately be Diesel engines starting from a 1.6L to 2L engines. A petrol engine is possible but we think it will be a 1.4L TFSI, similar to ones found in the Volkswagen Polo.
Transmission will be available in both Manual, featuring a six-speed box or Automatic, featuring a seven-speed dual-clutch. In addition the Vision S will be available in front-wheel drive and also four-wheel drive.
Best of all, the estimated starting value is said to be around £25,000 making it the cheapest against its rivals.
