Motorcyclists look set to be the happiest road users in London during the Olympic Games, as their ability to avoid congestion could prove invaluable.
Craig Carey-Clinch, policy advisor at the Motorcycle Industry Association, said motorcycles will be "an attractive mode of transport" for many people attempting to make their way around the capital during the world's biggest sporting extravaganza.
The opening of dedicated Olympic traffic lanes has already caused controversy and led to protests from London taxi drivers, but motorcyclists look set to avoid the worst of the traffic.
"In any major city, motorcycles don't generally get subjected to those enormous piles of traffic congestion," Mr Carey-Clinch commented.
"With smaller bikes in particular, you are going to be saving an awful lot on your fuel bill."
The London 2012 Olympics gets underway on Friday (July 27th), with an estimated four billion people due to watch the opening ceremony.
