Motorcycle manufacturer Ducati has announced the launch of its new Monster Diesel model.

Available for purchase from July, the vehicle is a collaboration between two iconic brands – Ducati and fashion house Diesel.

Stefano Rosso, project leader and son of Diesel founder, said:  "When we had the opportunity to work with Ducati with last year's MotoGP sponsorship, we discovered a whole world of shared values and common roots. That brought us the desire to create something new together."

"Both brands globally represent technology and innovation in pure Italian style," added Gabriele Del Torchio, president of Ducati Motor Holding.

The model features an innovative new wet clutch system with hydraulic control, which the manufacturer claims reduces rear-end destabilisation during aggressive gear changes and ensures the clutch has a longer lifespan, especially when making repeating shifts from drive to over-run when in slow-moving traffic.

Furthermore, the bike features an L-twin cylinder, two-valve per cylinder Desmodromic air-cooled engine, capable of delivering 1,078 cc, ensuring riders have great performance.

Based on Ducati's flagship Monster 1100EVO model, the Monster Diesel has seen a styling overhaul, with a new trellis frame, wheels, engine covers, exhaust system and forks, as well as exclusive Diesel Brave Green matte livery.

Equipment being offered to buyers of the new vehicle is set to include Brembo brake options, Marzocchi forks, an LED taillight, a bespoke leather seat and fully-customisable digital instrumentation enabling the rider to monitor ABS and DTC, as well as lap times when racing, warning lights for low oil pressure, over-revving and immobiliser activation, in addition to a fuel monitor and trip odometer.

In addition to the new Monster Diesel vehicle, the fashion house Diesel is unveiling a new collection of biker-inspired clothing to complement the launch, with fans of both brands set to be inspired themselves by the avant garde style.
