Most expensive Jensen ever at Classic Motor Show

The 2014 Classic Motor Show did not disappoint when it came to showcasing some very special vehicles. Among these was the most expensive Jensen car ever produced – the Jensen FF Silver Slammington.

This car was displayed on the stand hosted by Bavarez, the Oxfordshire-based craftsmen who have a long history of working with Jensens. Bavarez found this Jensen FF covered in rust in a barn and managed to turn it into a shiny, hand-crafted model that turned the heads of die-hard fans, Jensen owners and experts alike.

Among those that the car caught the eye of was television star and Jensen owner Fuzz Townshend and historian Ulric Woodhams. Mr Woodhams said of the car: “At the edge of classic cars versus custom cars, lies Bavarez’s eye-catching supercharged Jensen FF.”

It took two years for Bavarez to turn the car from a rusty ruin of a vehicle into a vintage-looking supercharger that gleams and can potentially provide up to 1,000 bhp, “not that I would ever test it to the limit…” said the car’s new owner, Mike Robins. He also got to meet the FF’s original owner Allen Crisp on the Bavarez stand.

Bavarez made sure to save every part of the car that it could and manufactured each part that it could not. The brand also had the shell dipped, cleaned and prepared for all the stages that followed.

Unveiling the FF at the Classic Motor Show was the international supermodel Harriadnie Beau, who has been involved with Jensen for a number of years. Her mother’s favourite car was the Interceptor and Ms Beau herself has been featured in a number of photo shoots with this type of car in the UK National Press.

Ms Beau expressed her delight at getting to unveil the car and added: “I have known the guys there for a long time and was sure that their hard work on the FF would pay off: it really is a super model in its own right.”
