Fans of American classic muscle cars could be in for a treat in the coming months as British Car Auctions (BCA) is set to offer the chance for enthusiasts to get their hands on some rare models.
An auction is set to be hosted by the organisation on June 21st at BCA Nottingham, with eight rare muscle cars to go under the hammer on the day.
Possible highlights for fans will include a Pontiac Firebird, a Chevrolet Camaro, three Chevrolet Corvettes and two Pontiac GTOs.
In addition, those in attendance on the day will also witness the sale of an extremely rare Plymouth GTX, with all of the models dating from between 1963 and 1970.
The GTX launched in 1967 and was in production until 1971. A typical example of the muscle car breed, the GTX delivered stunning performance for its day, featuring a 375 bhp engine and capable of accelerating from zero to 60 mph in just 6.5 seconds.
BCA spokesman Tim Naylor commented: "The opening sale includes a selection of very desirable Americana and we expect this and the future sales to attract interest, not just from UK buyers, but from much further afield.
"There is a real following for the American muscle cars, with many buyers seeing them as a real investment for the future."
An iconic example of the muscle car brand, the Firebird will also be on show for fans at the auction.
Its production run ran from 1967 to 2002, making it one of the most long-running muscle car brands, and the vehicle was the cousin of the first-generation Camaro.
A host of variants on the first and second-generation Firebird have been released over the years, including the popular Trans-Am and Trans-AM WS6 models. Other notable models in the range include the Skybird, Redbird, Yellowbird and Esprit variants.
