Sir Stirling Moss is set to wow fans of classic motorsport by taking to the track in the actual Jaguar C-Type he drove to victory in the 1952 Reims Grand Prix.
Not only was it a fine race win for arguably one of the greats of Formula One, it was the first time a car had won a grand prix while using modern disc brakes, making it a milestone moment in the history of not just motorsport, but the automotive industry in general.
The Jaguar C-Type – also known as the Jaguar XK120-C – was produced by the manufacturer between 1951 and 1953, with the C designation standing for "competition".
Set to take place on Saturday and Sunday May 5th and 6th 2012, the Donington Historic Festival took place for the first time in 2011.
This year, the organisers hope the event will be even bigger and better, with more than 300 exhibitors of classic vehicles, as well as plenty of on-track entertainment in the form of classic motorsport.
