Grammy award winning artist Will.I.Am has unveiled his own interpretation of the new Lexus NX at a launch party in Paris.
At the exclusive event, he showed off his interpretation of the compact car before performing a DJ set for the guests.
He worked on the NX 200t F Sport as part of the Striking Angles campaign. In keeping with the plan to sell the NX to younger, urban customers with an eye for design, the car got a sharply styled and sporty look on the outside with cutting-edge technology on the inside.
Speaking about the work he did on the NX, Will.I.Am said: “When I found out Lexus wanted me to be involved in the Striking Angles campaign, my first thought was, can I design a car with you? I am honoured to be launching my bespoke Lexus NX F Sport in Paris, this car is super fresh and incorporates my personal style. My point of view is, the best kind of design will encourage other people to interpret that design.”
Among the ideas that Will.I.AM introduced was a set of four 180-degree cameras that allow the driver to capture panoramic photographs and video while on the road. This can then be instantly displayed on the smartphone screens of drivers or passengers via Bluetooth.
Additionally, the car comes with a Wireless Charging Tray, so that people can put their smartphones into this box and charge it without the need for a cable.
Of course, Will.I.Am made sure that the audio experience on board was top notch. The car has a ten speaker Pioneer Surround Sound system. In the front and rear doors, there are 16.5 cm speakers and 6.5 cm speakers in the instrument panel.
Head of Lexus Europe Alain Uyttenhoven explained that his team were struck by Will.I.Am’s passion when it came to putting out his own interpretation of the NX F Sport.
