To fit with the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport for the 2015 model year, Land Rover has revealed a big suite of updates.
The updates include cleaner engines, improved performance, better in-car technology and more options for buyers to personalise their vehicles.
Its diesel SDV8 engine has been improved to produce 339 PS and 740 Nm of torque, which is a 40 Nm increase. What’s more, the torque curve has been made fuller from 1,700 to 3,300 rpm as a result of calibration changes. This also helps to improve in-gear acceleration from fifth to eighth gear by up to 6.5 per cent, which helps to improve the car’s ability to overtake and the capacity that it is able to tow.
The car has 8-speed transmission and its ZF 8HP70 automatic gearbox has been re-engineered so that it contains a twin-spring damper.
Nevertheless, the car can still get 32.5 mpg and produces 229 g/km of carbon dioxide emissions, which is the same as that prior to the updates.
In terms of improved personalisation options, customers now can choose between a bigger range of exterior colours, they can get alloy wheels and have the option for a panoramic roof with power blinds and interior colourways.
The car also comes with a host of Land Rover InControl and InControl Secure features. Among the InControl Remote features are an integrated SOS Emergency Call, Optimised Land Rover Assistance as well as a Smartphone App that lets the driver connect to their vehicle remotely wherever they are. What’s more, InControl Secure means the driver can track their vehicle in the event that it is stolen.
Group marketing director of Jaguar Land Rover Phil Popham said: “As the world’s best luxury and premium sporting SUVs, the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport have long offered an unrivalled combination of performance, luxury and off-road capability.
“These latest updates ensure both vehicles maintain their market-leading positions, with a special focus on performance, efficiency and increased personalisation options.”
