Lamborghini Huracan Feature

It is intended to herald a new era for Automobil Lamborghini and the general segment, with the all new Huracan delivering innovative technology and classic performance that the manufacturer is so famed for.

It is the successor to the brands iconic model the Gallardo, but it will deliver much more than just a mere improvement on a previous car.

The car is ready to make its world public debut at the Geneva Motorshow in 2014. It is named after the fighting bull Huracan, of the Spanish Conte de la Patilla breed, continuing a tradition that has seen previous models named after the sport.

This particular bull was known for its courage and sense of attack, which is conveyed in the all new design and performance.

According to the manufacturer, it will not just deliver luxury and a sporty drive, it will also be extremely easy to drive on the road.

In terms of its appearance, it features clean, precisely crafted lines, extending from a narrow front end to a more burly rear. Completed all in one gliding movement, the car evokes speed even when standing still.

Even at night, it is easy to tell that the car is unmistakably a Lamborghini, with LED illumination from the headlights and other light functions featuring this technology helping it to stand out further.

It is looks aggressive and powerful and is sure to deliver rampaging speed through the 5.2-litre V10 engine under the bonnet.

The technology helps to deliver 448 kW/610 HP at 8,250 rpm in addition to 560 Nm of torque at 6,500rpm.

A new system, known as Iniezione Diretta Stratificata (IDS) uses both direct and indirection combinations of gasoline injection, to provide even more power and torque, even at low combustion levels. Amazingly, in a super car of this power and ability, this feature limits the carbon emissions it produces to 290g/km of CO2 – much lower when compared to the previous Gallardo. This level has also been assisted by innovative Stop & Start technology.

All this translates to a top speed of 325km/h, as well as a 0-100kmh speed of 3.2 seconds. Pushing further to 200kmh, the car can achieve this in just 9.9 seconds.

Speed is enhanced by the super lightweight in the bodyshell, with a carbon fibre exterior in addition to a hybrid chassis, created by an integrated carbon and aluminium element. Excellent weight distribution also helps to improve handling.

The car has three unique setups for driving dynamics, known as STRADA, SPORT and CORSA.

Each modify the behaviour of the vehilce to suit the driver’s needs, whether this is on the road, or the race track.

Gearbox and engine behaviour is altered, as is the sound, the four-wheel drive system and the electronic stability control.

Braking performance before hitting the corners is also significantly enhanced by the carbon-ceramic brakes – fitted as standard.
