At the newly launched Ultimate Driving At Goodwood, visitors to the legendary motor circuit will get to do so from behind the wheel of a BMW.
Through this experience, which is powered by BMW, drivers get to go around a 32 mile course that gets them driving off road and experiencing the whole of the 12,000 acre Goodwood Estate. All the while, they will receive expert tuition.
There are four components to the Ultimate Driving at Goodwood experience; these are titled Adventure, Academy, Performance and Ultimate. Customers will get to select which one they wish to try out most.
Adventure sees customers driving BMW X5 and X3 cars over rugged terrain in Goodwood’s estate. The trip promises beautiful views and scenery but drivers should watch out for the pitfalls thrown up by forests, hillsides and chalk pits.
Performance teaches drivers to improve their high-speed driving skills, with the help of some one to one tuition. They will get to try out the BMW M235i, M3, M4, M5, M6 and the Alpina D3 Bi-Turbo. All of these cars come equipped with Michelin’s ultra-high grip tyres.
Academy offers something for the kids so that they can join in with the fun of driving a BMW too. Entrants under the age of 17 will get to try driving a Mini Cooper around the Goodwood Motor Circuit. Meanwhile, there is something for people who are of driving age too. Customers over the age of 17 can have a go at high-speed driving and pushing their machine to the limits through a winter handling session, which takes place on a special high tech area set aside for powerslides.
Last of all there is the Ultimate option, which gives customers the chance to craft their own driving experience out of the choices that are open to them. It is a full day experience that allows them to take the best elements from the Performance, Adventure and Academy options to create an experience that is ideal for them.
BMW Group UK managing director Graeme Grieve said: “Through this unique partnership between BMW Group and Goodwood, visitors will have an unforgettable day in this wonderful setting. From the natural beauty of this exceptional Estate to the thrills of the historic Motor Circuit, they will experience the best in our world-class line-up of performance cars – both MINI and BMW, as well as the ultimate luxury car from Rolls-Royce. We are delighted and excited to launch this programme today (October 29th).”
On the topic of the driving experience arranged between Goodwood and BMW, in partnership with Michelin, Lord March said it “creates a fusion of skills and expertise that will provide a truly exceptional new experience.”
He emphasised the fact that customers will receive expert tuition while they are at the motor circuit as they get behind the wheel of some fabulous cars. Through the off-road course, they get to try out areas of the Estate that are not often seen by visitors. Lord March also explained that for visitors to the Estate, the Ultimate Driving experience is a more hands on activity than anything that has been done before at Goodwood.
