Jaguar is set to reveal four new cars at the forthcoming Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Many car fans are looking forward to the appearance of the Jaguar XJR Rapid Response Vehicle for Bloodhound SSC and its attempt at the famous Goodwood Hill. The car will be driven by Andy Green, but festival goers will able to able to enjoy the Bloodhound SSC driving experience at the Jaguar Land Rover stand.
Visitors will also be able to get a look at the new enhanced XJ luxury car and the all-new XF executive saloon.
The XJ will be available to order towards the end of the year and offers a range of luxury features, including the new InControl Touch Pro infotainment system, as well as a 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine capable of 300PS/700Nm.
Finally, Jaguar will also reveal its latest model for the car maker’s Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) division. The XJR RRV is to be used as support to future land speed record attempts and has been significantly modified to carry a range of specialised equipment.
The Jaguar RRVs will be joined on the Goodwood Hill by the first production version of the new F-TYPE Project 7, the exciting new 340PS, 3.0-litre Jaguar XE S, and a selection of Jaguar’s most iconic heritage cars including XJ13, Group 44 E-type, Long Nose D-type, TWR XJS and Broadspeed XJ12C.
John Edwards, managing director of Special Operations at Jaguar Land Rover, said: “These are specially developed cars for a very special purpose, showcasing SVO’s ability to design and engineer bespoke vehicles to the highest possible standards. Equally importantly we”re proud to be playing a part in another great British land speed record attempt.” With a 5.0-litre V8 550PS Supercharged petrol engine, the car has a top speed of 174 mph and is capable of 0-60 mph in 4.4 seconds.
