It’s understandable to get a bit excited when Aston Martin says it is set to reveal a new special edition model. When it’s two, however, you would be excused for doing a little celebratory dance!
The iconic car manufacturer has revealed the 84th Geneva International Motor Show will be the stage where it will release two exclusive models, the V8 Vantage N430 and the “dramatic” DB9, available in Carbon Black and Carbon White.
With Aston Martin in its 101st year, it would be foolish to suggest it is starting to wind down in its old age. Instead, it still seems to be pushing the envelope and breaking boundaries.
It has described the V8 Vantage N430 as a car that delivers “race breeding and sports styling” in addition to “pure, unadulterated fun”.
The latest model has been developed on the track so that it will deliver quality performance on the road and will be available in both a Coupe and a Roadster form.
Aston Martin boasts that the model is able to hit a top speed of 190 mph and will travel from standing to 60 mph in just 4.6 seconds. This is thanks to rear wheel drive twinned with a sporty six-speed manual gearbox, with drivers able to chose a close-ratio seven-speed Sportshift II if they so require it.
It is powered by a 4.7-litre, all-alloy, V8 engine, complemented by a sports exhaust and quality aerodynamics.
In order to truly perfect the car, the manufacturer ensured it went through hours of testing around the globe.
The model is made to look exceptionally mean, thanks to dark-themed exterior details, such as graphite painted forged alloy wheels, a black front grille, headlamp bezels and exterior meshes.
Moving on to the DB9, the latest version of the car presents a style and visual drama that is not seen in other incarnations of the model.
Under the bonnet can be found a 6.0-litre V12 engine, capable of heading up to speeds as fast as 183 mph. In black, the image of speed is only accentuated, while the white variant delivers a stark contrast.
According to Aston Martin’s design director Marek Reichman, the new model versions provide a fresh and desirable new appearance for the DB9 range.
“[The] exciting details that define N430 should leave no one in any doubt about the car’s motorsport roots. Bold graphic treatments and the option of vivid colour combinations conjure up clear visual echoes of the race circuit,” he said.
On the outside, the cars feature carbon fibre side strakes and black window surrounds to really make the visual themes that much more powerful.
Moving inside, there is a strong black styling theme with a choice of accent colours, with bespoke sill plaques with the Carbon Black or White logo emblazoned on the inside, heightening the feeling of uniqueness in the car.
The models are sure to create quite a stir when they are finally revealed in Geneva later this month, and it’s safe to say that we can’t wait!
