Our friends over at Grove & Dean Motorsport Insurance were delighted to participate in the media day at Donington on Tuesday 9th April, in place to recognise the beginning of the British GT. Subsequently Grove & Dean Motorsport Insurance met with a few of the teams that they insure and who will be taking part in forthcoming tack events. The day was packed with great sights, such as, the Bentley GT3 and the Senna bloodline taking to the track.
Although the sun was shining down on the race track, there was a bitter chill in the air. All the team trailers where lined up against the pit garages, unloading their arsenal of tools, machinery and equipment – some very sophisticated and expensive stuff!
Ayrton Senna’s nephew, Bruno Senna, was also there not just as a face but driving his uncle’s famous F3 car. It’s brilliant to see that Ayrton’s legacy is still living on nearly two decades on! As predicted the garage was full of photographers, camera men and journalists from a broad range of different companies. It was so packed in the small garage that they eventually needed to kindly ask people to leave, to which everyone responded by crowding around the garage doors.
Teams such as JRM Racing were there with their monster looking Nissan GT R35 Nismo. The look of this car is extremely aggressive in comparison to the other cars which were more streamline and subtle. The R35 was also graced by the good looks of some of the JRM promotional staff who gave a nice contrast to the car’s aggressive look.
Beechdean who are an AMR (Aston Martin Racing) Team also came down to show off their stunningly beautiful Vantage GT3.
AF Corse travelled all the way from Italy to run a few laps in their Ferrari 458 which looked just as aggressive as the Nismo.
The Ginetta had also arrived in force, with around 6 teams on the day running Ginetta G55’s.
