All-New Range Rover Velar R-Dynamic Black Limited Edition

Land Rover have finally given the stunning Velar the murdered-out black treatment.

Just made available, the all-new Velar R-Dynamic Black Limited Edition offers a range of luxurious and very cool cosmetic enhancements, as well as some functional additions as well.

For £56,995 you can own the best looking Ranger Rover (in our humble opinion) now dressed head to toe in shiny gloss black. No chrome in sight!

The Velar, as standard, was already fairly de-chromed with the only visible shiny metal coming from the exhaust tips, wheels and in some specifications, the grille. All of that is now gloss black, including the ‘Range Rover’ lettering, making the renowned Velar SUV a sportier, more aggressive look.

Only 500 examples of the all-black Velar R-Dynamics Black Limited Edition will be produced giving it the potential to be a collectable in the future. It also means if you want one, you ought to be quick before they sell out. This particular limited edition is also only available in the UK.

So, what exactly is included? All 500 examples are fitted with the Velar’s Black Exterior Pack, obviously, and also come with 21” gloss black wheels, tinted privacy glass, fixed panoramic glass roof, heated steering wheel and Adaptive Dynamics. Adaptive Dynamics is a system that adjusts suspension settings automatically based on the current driving style and road conditions.

Furthermore, this special black edition of the Velar is actually available in two colours. Santorini Black, which can be seen in the pictures, and Eiger Grey. As for the interior, Ebony Perforated Grained Leather is the only available configuration for the seats and the headliner will be in Ebony Morzine. In other words, the interior will be all-black, just like the rest of the car, unless you order it in Eiger Grey.

As for the engine you’re getting, the Velar R-Dynamic Black Limited Edition is based upon the top-selling D180 R-Dynamic SE model. This means that it’ll have a 2.0-litre turbo diesel under the bonnet which produces around 187 bhp. It may not sound like much but it sure won’t be slow, with a 0-62 mph time of just 8.4-8.9 seconds.

The D180 R-Dynamic SE on which this limited edition is based upon is the most economical of the range, with real-world urban mpg exceeding 35 mpg. It comes with an automatic gearbox and plenty of things you’d expect in a luxury SUV such as the Velar, including adaptive cruise control, 360° parking aid, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, heated windscreen, mobile phone app interface and more.
