A lucky owner in Abu Dhabi has managed to get their hands on a very limited Ferrari Sergio as it was presented to them at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi.
This delivery marks the first Ferrari Sergio to arrive in the United Arab Emirates. It was given to the SBH Royal Auto Gallery at the famous circuit in Abu Dhabi, which has played host to such events as Formula One championship races. The Yas Marina Circuit houses the Ferrari World theme park and the Finali Mondiali Ferrari is set to be staged there.
There are only six Ferrari Sergios being built. The limited edition roadster was designed by Pininfarina and was created as part of the 60th anniversary of the Italian design company’s collaboration with Ferrari. It is intended to celebrate the spirit and core values of this partnership.
Sergio was chosen as the name of this exclusive car in honour of Sergio Pininfarina, who gained the longstanding partnership with Ferrari.
Every element of the Sergio Ferrari is geared towards performance. This includes its open-top, which is designed to reference track cars and adds to the sportiness of the vehicle.
The Sergio is based on the 458 Spider and contains the technological side of this car as well as the functional aspects of its cockpit.
Powering the Sergio is a 605 hp version of Ferrari’s naturally aspirated 4497 cc V8. This same engine won the International Engine of the Year award on three consecutive occasions. What’s more, it means the car can go from 0 to 100 km/h in only three seconds.
Style-wise, the car harks back to the design of Pininfarina for Ferrari during the 1960s and 1970s. The car is a bit of a different take on the typical roadster in that the front of the car appears to penetrate the rear, which in turn projects forward. There are two bodyshell masses that utilise a longitudinal black insert, which is the main styling cue of the design, to meld them together. This element also characterises the flank and is both a dividing and unifying element between the front and rear. Both sections of the car work together to create a harmonious and extremely muscular form.
The Sergio has a front spoiler beneath the bonnet that optimises heat exchange and balances downforce. Taking inspiration from the classic Ferrari flying buttress and negative rear window is the roll-bar, which has air intakes for clutch and gearbox oil cooling integrated into it. Additionally, the rear nolder and rear extractor generate downforce that adds giv flourish in the Sergio’s design.
On the outside of the car is three-layer exterior paintwork and a sporty cockpit that is donned with black leather upholstery and red stitching.
Each of the six Sergios were configured by their owners. This was done over a series of sessions at the Tailor Made atelier in Maranello. Here, clients were invited to personalise their cars according to their individual tastes. They got to decide on such areas as colours, materials and finishes, which meant that each detail of these cars was exclusive.
