Iconic firm Honda are celebrating five decades of trading in the UK market and 30 years of manufacturing in Britain.
It all begin in 1965, when Honda first began selling cars to Brits and the company has now developed into one of the world’s leading brands and employees more than 180,000 people worldwide.
In 2015, the company sold 4.3 million cars and 17 million motorcycles and has played a key role in driving forward the automobile industry.
Honda now offer 65 different motorcycle models and account for 20 per cent of the bike market in the UK.
As well as commercially, Honda has been an important factor in the development of motorsports and its teams have picked up a number of drivers and manufacturers championships.
Philip Crossman, managing director at Honda UK, commented: “Our business has changed radically over since it launched in the swinging sixties, adapting and evolving to suit the demands of riders and drivers over the years.
“I can well imagine that Honda will be a completely different organisation in 2065 – but still selling quality and trusted cars, bikes and power products.”
Over the years, Honda has produced some fab cars ranging from the hand built NSX to the must-have 90s Civic Type-R.
