Spend less on fuel with these ultra-frugal cars with high MPG!

Although we may look back on the lockdowns of 2020 and 2021 with anger, it had one good thing going for it and that was cheap fuel.

10 Most Fuel Efficient Cars To Beat Rising Fuel Prices

Fast forward to September 2021 and we experienced a rather unbelievable fuel ‘crisis’ with queues for pumps backing up into the roads and causing all sorts of disruption. If you wanted or needed fuel the wait time could easily be over an hour in many areas of the country and some stations imposed spend limits and banned jerry cans from being filled up.

Today, once again, strange things are happening to fuel here in the UK. Virtually since the ‘shortage’ in September of last year, fuel prices have been rising steadily with them suddenly spiking at the beginning of 2022.

Currently, at an all-time high, fuel prices have seemingly spiked just as homeowners across the country recently got a shock as electricity prices also increased. Furthermore, Russia invading Ukraine likely means that fuel is due to increase further as a lot of oil comes from Ukraine, Russia is also the world’s third-largest oil producer.

In other words, fuel was already on the rise and now it looks as though it will not stop rising any time soon. With fuel becoming more expensive, many of us are considering more fuel-efficient vehicles or even making the leap to an all-electric car!

For those wondering which cars have the best MPG, our friends at Auto Trader have compiled a list of the cars with the best fuel economy. Many of these cars are hybrids, with mild hybridisation becoming very popular amongst car manufacturers recently thanks to the gains in fuel economy that can be achieved with even the smallest amount of electricity thrown in the mix.
