This year, Lamborghini are no doubt chomping at the bit in anticipation of the reaction their most powerful supercar so far – the Centenario LP770-4.So one can only speculate the reaction of the company to the news that Centenario pictures have been leaked onto the Internet already. On the one hand, the marketing gurus may argue that it whets the appetite, on the other it dampens the anticipation – your choice.What isn’t in any doubt is that, by the looks of things, we have another car here where the Batmobile adjectives will be flowing from the pens of many an automotive journalist once more. There’s no doubt that the supercar has a powerful, familiar Lamborghini look about it. The supercar doesn’t look like it will be taking many prisoners – and with the Centenario packing 759bhp (the LP770 part of the moniker – 770hp), that’s a fair assumption for those of you lucky (or unlucky) enough to have one of these sleek beasts suddenly appear in the rear view mirror.The concept behind this car was always to do fitting justice to the much-respected Ferruccio Lamborghini, who was born in April 1916, hence the Centenario part of the name; 100 years. Lamborghini (the company) was always going to mark such an occasion with an impressive tribute to a man who was once told by Enzo Ferrari that he should stick to building tractors after Lamborghini (the man) aired his disapproval of his newly acquired Ferrari 250 GT.Of course, as far as the Centenario LP770-4 goes, it’s far to early to say much conclusively, and it seems that much of what we can glean comes from the name itself, one hundred years, the horse power – and the 4? Well that is likely to indicate that the expected tuned V12 6.5 litre engine is going to be sending power to all four wheels. Indeed, drivetrain, chassis and the engine itself are likely to all come from the existing mid-engined Aventador. Rumour has it that a lucky select few prospective buyers were given a 3D viewing of the Centenario during Monteray Car Week last year, but that’s about all we know. Still, there’s not long to wait now as the Geneva International Motor Show 2016 runs from 3rd March until 13th March.As for price, well clearly it won’t be cheap and as the saying goes; if you have to ask, you can’t afford it. Images: carmagazine.co.uk"},{"@context":"https://schema.org/","@type":"BreadcrumbList
@type":"ListItem
{"@type":"ListItem
