The Geneva Motor Show is home to some of the most exciting releases from car manufacturers this year, but it’s Aston Martin that is going further by adding the dynamic DB11 to its bloodline. The DB11 is the figurehead of the DB line and is the first product to be launched under the company’s Second Century plan.
Aesthetically, the DB11 follows the pattern of previous incumbents of its range in so much that it’s attractive to the eye, but this new model brings a new level of design to the brand. It features bold new design signatures including a front-hinged clamshell bonnet, distinctive LED headlights and its front grille has newly accentuated lines.
The model has flowing roof strakes and clean lines, which follow the whole way down to the rear of the model, giving the car a sculpted and aerodynamic appearance. Further innovations on aerodynamics and detailing on wheel arches and spoilers see the DB11 produce a smooth ride with little interference from front- and rear-end lift.
It’s under the bonnet where the performance of the DB11 lies however, as it’s powered by a 5.2-litre twin-turbocharged V12 engine. This unit is designed in-house by Aston Martin and has an output of 600bhp, with 700Nm of torque, both of which make the DB11 the most powerful production DB model ever made.
In terms of its on-road performance, the DB11 records a top speed of 200mph and a 0-62mph time of 3.9 seconds. New driving modes have been added to the latest model from Aston Martin in order to intensify the response of the engine – these include GT, Sport and Sport Plus modes, which are selected by the driver.
Inside the car you’ll find a spacious cabin with lots of head and legroom, particularly in the rear of the model. Orders are already coming in for the new Aston Martin DB11, with recommended retail prices starting from £154,000 and deliveries scheduled for the latter end of this year.
