It’s not as strange to launch at the CES as it might sound, as new cars and concepts seem to embrace advancing technology at an ever-increasing rate these days, and only last month I revealed that the BMW i8 Spyder was to get its re-launch at the same show.For Faraday Future, it seems the perfect place to show the FFZERO1 concept. Although finding out about the vehicle beyond the intriguing images isn’t so easy to do – here’s what Faraday say: “Our goal was to build a car with a sixth sense for its driver’s intentions and needs – one with adaptive personalization..” and so it goes on. Well, that’s marketing-speak for you.What I can tell you is that the steering wheel is integrated with your smartphone, allowing for ‘modifiable power outputs’ and ‘customised configurations’ – but more interesting to me is the NASA-inspired zero-gravity driver seat, which apparently gives a sense of weightlessness with the intention of reducing driver fatigue.The car itself looks like another version of a very stylish Batmobile when viewed from certain angles and Faraday say that the adjustable chassis and carbon fibre/lightweight composite body were designed around the driver rather than the other way round, where the driver is, essentially, just slotted into the designed body of the vehicle. This doesn’t mean that there is any compromise here though, with the FFZERO1 revealing itself to have minimal drag with the flowing design forcing airflow across the string of connected batteries for cooling. The adjustable chassis and battery string make any changes or battery replacements far easier than the current standard automotive battery configuration, the company say.We can forget the days when electric cars were seen as dull and functional, and to emphasise this rapid progression, the FFZERO1 boasts 4 Quad Core Motors and horsepower in excess of 1,000 and a claimed 0-60 of less than 3 seconds, as well as a top speed of over 200mph. While the interior boasts a combination of virtual and head-up displays for the lone occupant, while the smartphone connectivity allows for analysis of the vehicle systems in real time. It all sounds very immersive.Faraday Future predicts that the concept could even become reality within just two years, which is as impressive as the car itself.Images: faradayfuture.com, uncrate.com, theweek.co.uk"},{"@context":"https://schema.org/","@type":"BreadcrumbList
@type":"ListItem
{"@type":"ListItem
