Mercedes say the design is in homage to the classic coup\u00e9 designs of the past and luxury Mercedes models from the 1930s like the 540K, hence that extra long bonnet; in fact the car is almost 6 metres – that\u2019s nearly 20 feet – long. At the other end, a fastback, \u2018boat tail\u2019 design and gull-wing doors compliment the retro yet streamlined modern look and feel of the car. Giant 24-inch wheels offer some visual balance.The interior is anything but retro though, with a spacious, curvy feel and driver data able to be projected onto the windscreen so you can keep your eyes on the road more. Mercedes call this curvy interior a \u2018360 lounge\u2019 and the curve of the custom bucket seats certainly keeps the lines flowing. The interior lighting will \u2018see\u2019 the colour of the clothing you are wearing and light up accordingly \u2013 let\u2019s hope Christopher Biggins doesn\u2019t buy one. The Maybach also comes with its very own unique, curvy designed luggage too.The Maybach is an all-wheel-drive electric powered sports car with a 200 mile range and offering 740bhp. Mercedes say that the car will accelerate from 0-62mph in less than four seconds and keep going right up to a (limited) top speed of 155mph. The Maybach will also feature fast charging capabilities, enabling you to give your car an extra 62 miles of range in just 5 minutes \u2013 which is pretty impressive.The Maybach has just made its debut at the home of way-out luxury sports cars, the Pebble Beach Concours d\u2019Elegance during Monterey Car Week and is destined to reach production for 2017.
