The Lister Motor Company is a Cambridge-based specialist sports car maker, known for taking already awesome cars and cranking them to become even more awesome automobiles.
We’re telling you about the company today because it has just confirmed that its fastest, most powerful and luxurious car yet will be unveiled in mid-February.
Named the Lister Thunder, the supercar is based on the Jaguar F-Type and will have a top speed in excess of 200mph with the capacity to blast off to 62mph in just over three seconds.
It does this by exploiting a demonic power output of 666bhp, produced by a supercharged 5.0-litre V8 that has been carefully tuned by Lister’s expert engineers.
You’ll need to be just as quick to secure one though – only 99 examples will be built, each priced upwards of £139,950.
The car’s carbon fibre front and rear bumpers have been custom-made, with an extended splitter creating greater downforce. Lister vents adorn the bonnet, while Lister decals are found on the car’s side panels, with the grille centre, decals and callipers matching the interior combination.
Around the back, there are enlarged rear Lister carbon exhaust tips in the rear bumper that creates the car’s boom thundery note.
Lawrence Whittaker, chief executive of the revitalised Lister Motor Company, expressed his intentions for the firm’s future, saying: “Like Brabus and AMG with Mercedes and Alpina with BMW, we are hoping to become synonymous once again with tuning Jaguar vehicles, giving customers new enhanced, bespoke performance and design alternatives to Jaguar’s acclaimed model programme.
“Although we are not directly affiliated with Jaguar Land Rover, Lister has a Jaguar tuning heritage dating back 65 years. I am utterly proud of what we have achieved and the Thunder is just the beginning.”
The full specification for the Lister Thunder will remain secret until its unveiling during Historic Motorsport International at London’s ExCeL on February 15-18th.
