Since its release in 2012 the F-Type range hasn’t really been revised or updated, until now. Jaguar have revised their premium sports range for 2017 with a new 400 Sport model that will be on sale for a year only.

So what is the 400 Sport and what’s different for the new range?

400 Sport

The 400 Sport will have a 395bhp 3.0 litre supercharged V6 engine which will be capable of doing 0-60mph in 4.9 seconds, with a top speed of 171 mph.

Apart from having the 400 Sport logo all over the car, the new model does have:

  • An upgraded chassis
  • Super Performance breaking system
  • Configurable Dynamic system -which allows drivers to customise the driving settings and 20inch alloys.

This will cost upwards of £70,115 and will come in coupé or convertible with RWD and AWD to choose from.

Rest of the range

2018 Jaguar F-Type R-Dynamic

Another noticeable addition is the R-Dynamic model, which comes with a 335bhp, 3.0 litre V6 petrol engine, and will cost £55,150.

Aesthetically the new F-Type range has been updated with minor, yet effective changes.

The front bumper is probably the most notable change of all.

All the models have their unique air intake designs with subtle changes.

With each model having been updated with LED headlights and improved interiors.

The new range will come with special seats that are 8KG lighter than before, providing more legroom and lower ride position.

The cabin has been updated with many minor changes, such as:

  • A new steering wheel
  • Start button
  • Aluminium trims

However most importantly, Jaguar have updated their infotainment system with their 8inch touchscreen Touch Pro system.

Additional technology

2018 Jaguar F-Type Re-Run app

The new F-Type range will all come with a ReRun app that works with smartphones and GoPro’s for track days.

The app, when connected with a GoPro will show the driver performance data such as speed, throttle positioning, g-force, gear selection and more to maximise performance and minimise lap times.

Jaguar have also added a new parking assistance system which will scan parking spaces and automatically steer in and out of tight parking spots.

The new range will go on sale in the coming months, with prices starting from £51,450 and rising to £110,000.
