Salon Privé – arguably the most luxurious motor show on the planet – has cemented its name in classic car history even further by becoming the first to run two completely separate Concours celebrations within the same event.

Staged on Saturday September 2nd – two days after the long-standing and revered Chubb Insurance Concours d’Elégance – the inaugural Concours Masters event centred around Ferrari’s 70th birthday (a landmark we at Motor-Vision also celebrated earlier this year).

The idea is that each year will focus on the anniversary of an historic automotive marque or a particular coachbuilder.

This time though, more than 50 of Maranello’s greatest cars lined up on the lawns of Blenheim Palace and boy, was it pretty.

Perhaps the most drool-worthy was the 1956 Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta ‘Tour de France’ by Carrozzeria Scaglietti, which was once owned by none other than legendary mouse scribbler Walt Disney.

This car bagged the Owner’s Choice award partly due to its full Ferrari Classiche certification and stunning period-correct condition.

Not far behind it in second was a 1953 Ferrari 250 Inter-Europa Coupe by Vignale. Considering it is one of four bodied by Vignale and only 22 first-series 250 Europas were ever made, it’s one of the rarest road-going 50s Ferraris in existence.

Aside from coming runner-up in the Owner’s Choice award, it took home the Best Interior Pre-1970 award and a trophy for Outstanding Coachwork.

The Ladies’ Choice was a stylish 1952 Ferrari 342 America, while an immaculate 2004 Ferrari Enzo was gifted the Chairman’s Award.

Another key award winner was one of 17 1961 Ferrari 400 Superamerica SWB Coupe Aerodinamico models, which is regarded by enthusiasts to be the finest restored example in existence, took home the Marquis of Blandford Award.
