Aston Martin has revamped its Vanquish S grand tourer into one of (In our opinion) its meanest, most powerful models ever.
Engine:
Replacing the regular Vanquish, the new S model uses the same naturally-aspirated six-litre V12 engine as the Vantage GT12.
However the power output has been ramped up by 30bhp – now 595bhp.
This means that it can dart to 62mph in 3.5 seconds before topping out at a maximum speed of 201mph.
The eight-speed Touchtronic III automatic gearbox has also been tweaked to unlock quicker responses and greater refinement at low speeds.
The suspension has been given a mini overhaul too with damper internals, spring rates and anti-roll bar bushes all being re-tuned to deal the car a keener edge in sport mode without cramping ride quality during everyday driving.
Exterior:
Can we also take a second to just look at this beauty. No really, do it.
Visually, the more aggressive-looking Vanquish S is instantly recognisable due to its exposed carbon fibre body work.
Additional features include a revised front splitter, rear diffuser and no fewer than four exhausts.
The car sits on new 20-inch wheels with five or ten spoke alloys, finished off in silver or gloss black.
Buyers can choose to include other luxury add-ons such as carbon fibre bonnet louvres and painted graphics packs.
Interior:
The interior can be spruced up with the following
- filograph quilted leather
- Bridge of Weir Caithness leather
- Satin chopped carbon fibre fascia panel or ‘Vanquish S’ embroidery on the headrests.
Dr Andy Palmer, president and chief executive of Aston Martin hailed the car as “a spectacular machine in every sense and a “magnificent addition to the brand’s range”. Couldn’t have put it better ourselves Andy!
Price:
Available in fixed-roof coupe and volante convertible body styles, prices for the Vanquish S start from £199,950, with customer deliveries beginning December 2016.
