An attempt to set a new world record for the largest parade of Ferraris at Silverstone next month now looks likely to feature more than 1,000 cars.

In a statement, Ferrari North Europe announced that registrations for the record bid at 18:00 BST on Saturday September 15th are still open, despite passing the 1,000 mark.

The company thanked the Ferrari Owners Club and Ferrari enthusiasts all over the UK and abroad for supporting the attempt, which will aim to beat the previous record of 490.

Ferrari will donate £5 for every car entered for the world record attempt to BEN, the automotive industry's charity.

The record bid is due to take place during Ferrari Racing Days, an action-packed two-day celebration of the prestigious Italian marque at Silverstone's famous Grand Prix circuit.

Attendees will be able to see the FXX and 599XX development cars on track, as well as racing from the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli and the Ferrari Club Challenge.
