Mercedes-AMG has announced the launch of its new C 63 AMG “Edition 507” model, which it claims will appeal to motoring enthusiasts who take pleasure in “top-class technology”.
Developing 507 bhp and maximum torque of 610 Nm, the model is capable of accelerating from zero to 62 mph in just 4.2 seconds, making it one of the most powerful vehicles on the planet.
Ola Kallenius, chairman of the board of management of Mercedes-AMG, said: “The C 63 AMG with the classic AMG 6.3-litre high-revving V8 naturally aspirated engine is one of the most popular AMG high-performance cars in the world.
“With the new C 63 AMG “Edition 507″, we are offering our loyal customers an attractive model variant which boasts even higher performance and at the same time is visually exciting.”
The “Edition 507” also comes complete with the AMG Driver’s Package as standard, while a number of unique design features help to set the vehicle apart from its contemporaries, including two distinctive openings in the bonnet which help to keep the engine cool.
Available in two variants – high-sheen titanium grey or matt black with high-sheen rim flanges – the model also includes AMG’s latest brake composite technologies, which are cooled by six aluminium fixed callipers on the front axle and four-piston fixed callipers on the rear.
Last month, the vehicle manufacturer also highlighted a number of new design concepts for the future at the Los Angeles Auto Show, with its Ener-G-Force design taking centre stage.
The vehicle has been created as a precursor to the upcoming reinvention of the G-Class, with Mercedes claiming it will be one of the most efficient vehicles on the planet. Drawing on hydrogen fuel cell technology, the model is forecast to achieve a range of up to 500 miles between charges.
