McLaren has announced it will be holding a number of celebrations in 2013, as the iconic marque celebrates its 50th anniversary on September 2nd.
Launched by Bruce McLaren at the tender age of 27, the company has gone on to become of the biggest brands on the planet, coupling this with success in the world of motorsport and significant popularity among sports car aficionados.
Ron Dennis, executive chairman for McLaren Group and McLaren Automotive, said: "McLaren's history is long and storied, but McLaren's legacy is harder to define – and that's because it's still being vividly written."
Last year also witnessed another milestone announcement from the massively popular sports car manufacturer, with the new McLaren P1 set to be brought into production in 2013.
The spiritual successor to the iconic McLaren F1, the P1 will build on the lessons learnt by the manufacturer during its long history to deliver a new hypercar capable of mixing it with some of the biggest names in the fields, including the Pagani Huayra, Ferrari Enzo and the Bugatti Veyron.
