The all new Maserati Quattroporte has been unveiled for the first time at this year's North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit.
Available in V8 and V6 variants, the new Quattroporte is to be the new flagship model for the marque and is set to cost £108,125 and £80,070 respectively, with first deliveries to commence for buyers this summer.
It has some stunning statistics on which to draw in order to wow the crowds at this year's show, including a top speed of 307 km/h (191 mph) – 20 km/h faster than the existing model – as well as acceleration from zero to 62 mph in just 4.7 seconds.
Furthermore, the new model has seen a significant increase in fuel efficiency in comparison to the previous Quattroporte – up by 20 per cent – while the introduction of the manufacturer's new Q4 system helps with handling at high speeds by redistributing torque between the rear wheels to give the driver greater control and responsiveness.
This latest incarnation of the Quattroporte is the sixth generation of the model and will come in a five or four-seat layout designed to offer greater flexibility to buyers.
Now underway and running until January 27th, NAIAS is attracting vehicle manufacturers from across the globe, with grand unveilings not just coming from Maserati this year, but by many established marques.
Honda is showcasing its new SUV concept, while Toyota has also unveiled its new Corolla Furia concept to the masses.
"This show is a reflection of the positive changes that are occurring in our industry," said Jim Seavitt, chairman for 2013 NAIAS.
"Automakers from around the world continue to place NAIAS at the top of their global auto show strategies, and have committed to more than 50 vehicle debuts with the majority being worldwide unveilings."
