The Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show will play host to a rather special car, as the all new Jaguar C-X75 prototype is set to make quite the statement at the event. In addition to being a stunning new vehicle design, the model features a state-of-art hybrid engine technology – proving to be a new advance in the economical supercar sector.
Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre (NEC) will be showcasing the vehicle, with the iconic manufacturer set to unveil it as part of its Jaguar Classic Parts stand, displaying the best in classic and modern cars from the brand.
With plans unveiled in 2010, the concept model was brought forward with the intention to launch a new chapter for the classic sports and performance car developer in regards to innovation and technological advances.
Even without a fuel guzzling engine, the car is able to reach 100mph from standing in a matter of six seconds, which is pretty mind blowing. Continuing to speeds of up to 220mph, the new C-X75 could hold its own against many conventional petrol-based sport cars.
While delivering this incredible performance, the Jaguar only emits 89g of CO2 per kilometre – akin to the average fuel efficient family road vehicle. Furthermore, the incredible car will run for a total of 60km without releasing any environmentally harmful gasses.
The design is not the most conventional and certainly marks a step away from traditional Jaguar models. It would be easiest to describe the vehicle as ‘curvy’, with the headlight arches extending far beyond the windscreen and a bonnet that dips dramatically.
At the back, the rear end is more prominent, and features a number of holes and ducts for the purposes of ventilation.
The drivers cabin is also very low, which somehow makes the front wheel seem enormous in comparison and gives the impression of elevation when seen at a sideways glance.
Although the car might not ever reach full production, it is expected to set the precedent for future hybrid models from Jaguar. It is also hoped to showcase Jaguar’s abilities at delivering top-class production of lightweight vehicles, low emission powertrains, and innovative high performance.

“It is arguably the world’s fastest test-bed for the world’s most advanced technologies, combining as it does a remarkable hybrid powertrain with awe-inspiring performance. Jaguar is always looking to shape the cars of tomorrow and with projects like C-X75 we are laying the foundations for the next generation of Jaguar innovations.”
At the motoring event, held at the NEC from November 15th-17th, Jaguar will also be displaying a number of vehicles from its heritage collection.
Visitors will be able to cast their eyes over models such as the XK120, the E-Type and the XJ40. Jaguar’s XJS, X300, XKR and XFR Rocketsports designs will also be on show.
