However, this has not deterred one student in China.Chen Yinx, who is a fan of high performance cars, decided to spend six months building his own supercar, with a budget of just \u00a33,000.Featuring Lamborghini-style doors and a plush interior, the 27-year-old was asked to display his design at a key event in Haikou, capital of China\u2019s southernmost island province Hainan.Many of the visitors to the 2015 Hainan International Automotive Industry Exhibition were instantly impressed by the home-built sports car.The end product certainly has a supercar look, but under the hood it is electric and has a top speed of just 37 mph – although with a bit more tinkering this could increase to 60 mph.Another problem is that the car isn’t road legal, so Yinx is currently renting it out for photo shoots – no doubt so he can save money for his next car build.
