The Ferrari 458 Spider enjoyed its public debut in Scotland at last weekend's Hopetoun House Italian Car and Bike Day.

More than 25 Ferraris were on show at the event in South Queensferry on Sunday August 12th, but the first glimpse of the 458 Italia's convertible variant was undoubtedly a highlight for the car enthusiasts in attendance.

First unveiled by Ferrari at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, the 458 Spider features a retractable hard top that folds back in just 14 seconds.

The luxury marque has said the vehicle is designed to "usher in a whole new generation of Ferrari convertibles".

Provided by Graypaul Edinburgh and the Scottish Ferrari Owners Club, other models displayed on the day included a Ferrari California 30, Ferrari FF and Ferrari F40.

Lovers of Italian cars and motorcycles who headed to Hopetoun House enjoyed 25th birthday celebrations for the Ferrari F40, as well as the 40th birthdays of the Fiat X1/9 and the Maserati Khamsin.
