The annual Cannonball 2000 is set to take place again this year and will see some of the finest sports and performance vehicles in the world taking to the roads of Europe for a fast-paced race across the continent.
Set to kick off on September 5th, the event attracts some of the finest motors and their owners from across the globe for five days of driving, partying and general excitement.
The race begins in London and will see participants embarking on a 2,000-mile journey through England, France, Spain, Italy and Monte Carlo before ending the event in Paris on September 10th.
An array of performance vehicles will be on show for crowds in 2012, including a Nissan Skyline and 350Z GT Roadster, as well as numerous Ferraris – a California, 430 and 360 Modena have all already signed up to take part.
In addition, a host of celebrity drivers will be taking part this year, such as Emmerdale star Kelvin Fletcher and Coronation Street actor Ryan Thomas.
The course will see this year's entrants leave England via Portsmouth before heading south to Barcelona for day two. Day three will see the drivers running to Monte Carlo, before day four ends in Milan.
A final push then comes on day five, with the entrants making their way to a celebration party in Paris.
Tickets to take part in this iconic race are now available for petrolheads. Alternatively, fans of sports, performance and prestige vehicles could simply head to the daily pit stops during the race where they will be able to catch a glimpse of all the cars as they come in from their run.
Guaranteed to turn heads as participants blast their way across Europe, the Cannonball 2000 in 2012 is set to be bigger and better than ever.
It is described by the promoters as "the motoring lifestyle event of 2012" and is therefore surely one not to be missed.
