In Germany, the motoring pioneers will be continuing the festivities, and will offer visitors to the Frankfurt event the opportunity to see the rarest all new Aston Martin models, in the shape of the CC100 Speedster Concept.

However, while visitors and Aston Martin fans will look forward to this rare opportunity, for many the prospect of seeing two of the brand’s forthcoming sports cars will be causing the most excitement.

Aston Martin will be displaying the brand new V12 Vantage S, as well as the Vanquish Volante – a vehicle which the company describes as the ultimate convertible.

Chief executive of Aston Martin Dr Ulrich Bez said: “Our centenary celebrations highlight the rich history of this exceptional sports car company.

“Centenary events in Dubai, Shanghai, the Far East, Pebble Beach in the US, the UK and right across Western Europe – including the Nürburgring here in Germany – have celebrated the remarkable Aston Martin story so far.”

Firstly, let’s look at the V12 Vantage S. The car is set to be welcomed into UK showrooms across the globe in the coming weeks, but visitors to Frankfurt will get an advanced preview.

Apart from one exception, in the form of the now sold-out One-77 hypercar, the V12 Vantage S is the fastest accelerating production car that Aston have delivered to date.

With a 0-60mph speed of 3.7 seconds, the car is set to blow the minds of racing enthusiasts the world over.

Delivering a top speed of 205 mph, the vehicle will become the fastest sports car to ever feature the famous Aston Martin wings.

Dr Bez said that the V12 Vantage S is not just the fastest car the brand has ever produced, it is a testament to the engineering excellent to company has strived for since the beginning.

“To master such formidable power, to make it usable and controllable, these are skills that are not commonly available. The engineering team at Gaydon have executed the installation of our most powerful engine in our smallest sports car with real skill,” he said.

“We have created an extreme sports car, for sure; but we have ensured that it stays true to the luxurious ethos of the brand.”

When it comes to the Vanquish Volante, the manufacturer boasts that it is the ultimate in the convertible line, and a “stunning” new luxury sports car.

The car will also be wheeled into showrooms worldwide in the coming weeks, and will see customers clamouring for the AM11 6.0-litre V12 engine as seen in the coupe – but with the added benefit of a retractable roof.

It produces similar performance levels to its coupe sibling, reaching 60mph from standing in just 4.1 seconds, with a top speed of 183 mph.

However, the Vanquish will be the first fully carbon fibre-skinned Volante in the brands history.

Dr Bez said: “This car is what luxury super GT driving is all about. Great performance, fantastic style and exhilarating Volante motoring in one superb package.

Maintaining the super GT performance for which Vanquish Coupe is renowned, while also ensuring we exceed our previous best in terms of luxury, refinement and driving composure has been the designers’ challenge. With this car, they have excelled at their task.”
