What makes a classic? Well, classic-beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so here’s a little inspiration for you from the prestige forecourt of Imperials, Chadwell Heath. You can decide for yourself whether or not you think it’s a classic…

Porsche 911 Turbo feature

The Porsche 997 Turbo Tiptronic S may not be the prettiest 911 – according to some ‘purists’, who have probably never owned one – but the fact that this Guards Red monster sits on massive, 19-inch lightweight Turbo wheels over that wide and aggressive Turbo bodywork, makes it, in my opinion, an always impressive performance classic at the very least.

Let’s face it, this autobahn-stormer is almost untouchable by all but the very top end of supercars – and remember, this one has recently been reduced in price by Imperials to under £53k – and will hit 62mph in a shocking 3.7 seconds, and fire on to very nearly 200mph. That’s rocketship performance for speedboat money. And this one, with long-term ownership in mind, has covered just 18,000 miles, with a full Porsche service history too, of course.

This Imperials 911 Turbo also features all the very best goodies to go with its baby-faced mileage, including the legendary Sports Chrono Pack that allows its 3.6-litre, twin-turbo engine to ‘overboost’ for up to 10 seconds at full throttle, for extra torque, for even faster overtakes. That’s 470bhp and more!

Comfort inside this king of the 997s is assured by the full black leather interior – the perfect accompaniment to the vivid red exterior paint – and the expensive optional Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM); the electronic damping control system that actively and continuously adjusts the damping force of each wheel, according to the road conditions and driving style. Indeed, this 997 Turbo is a truly useable everyday supercar that’ll purr like a kitten around town, or roar like a particularly peeved lion at full throttle. And, believe me, there is not much on earth that sounds as serious as a 997 Turbo at max attack.

Should you need to hear something sweeter than the turbocharged soundtrack of the Turbo’s motor, then there is a full Bose top-end sound system to help you while away the motorway hours, and a Porsche factory Sat-Nav system to keep you on the straight and narrow. Someone’s spent a ton of options-cash on this 911 Turbo, and now it’s time for its new owner – an owner with an eye on blistering performance – to make the most of that options list generosity.

Classic-beauty is in the eye of the beholder indeed, but with nearly 500bhp on tap and one of the most sticky chassis known to man, this Porsche 911 Turbo is all about the beauty of incredible pace and searing performance.
