It even has a tonneau cover on the non-drive side of the car; something we certainly don’t see very much of on a modern open-top sports car.As a nod to Porsche’s 75th anniversary, a rather unsubtle but attractive ‘75’ sits on the side of the speedster and also on the bonnet, where it resides along with the labels ‘1948’ (the year the 356 Speedster began) and ‘2023’.Like the 356, the Vision 357 features a shortened windscreen emphasising the car’s curvy body, and the rear patterning hints at the famous chrome grille from the 356.Modern takes on the car provide a bit more luxury than the original Porsche speedster of course, and each wing mirror features cameras rather than reflective glass and sit just forward of the doors on the car’s fenders.If you look carefully, you can just see the oval front headlamp areas – once noticed, these really do make the connection between the 356 Speedster and the Porsche Vision 357 more apparent.Inside, the Vision 357 gets a fairly minimal layout that is aimed at allowing the driver to simply get the best out of the sports car.The low-slung seating allows you to feel that you really are inside the car and close to the road.The interior design is finished in a subtle carbon-weave appearance with bright Miami Blue details adding pops of colour. In another hint to the old-school, straps are used as door pulls instead of handles.Goodwood Festival Of Speed Show Of PowerPorsche used Goodwood to full effect, offering at least 15 classic and modern Porsche models to drool over.A Porsche parade displaying the vehicles ascendied the Goodwood hill twice per day being led by a classic Porsche 356 No 1 Roadster.Porsche Vision 357 Speedster Not Too Outlandish We don’t even have full specs of the 357 as yet, but the question is already being asked about future availability for the new speedster.Porsche’s Chief Designer, Michael Mauer, has encouragingly said that the idea behind a Porsche concept is not to produce something too outlandish to ever become a production model in the future, hinting that each concept reveals a way for Porsche to develop future designs. So intriguingly, I guess it’s a case of just watching what Porsche do – as always.Images: newsroom.porsche.com"},{"@context":"https://schema.org/","@type":"BreadcrumbList
@type":"ListItem
{"@type":"ListItem
