The excellent KAMM 912c Restomod is getting a little bit of a tweak for 2023 as the full production car is revealed.
You might not be familiar with this custom restomod Porsche, but it’s a sports car worth taking a look at.
Porsche 912C KAMM Restoration
KAMM has aimed to create a 912 that looks period correct but with added modern enhancements to bring it up to date.
Such classic vehicles always remind me of the Triumph motorcycle approach; keep the nostalgic look and feel, but make sure it’s up to date and pleasant to use.
KAMM says that their 912c is a classic racer that is dynamically exciting but offering a level of comfort above what might be traditionally expected.
Indeed, you can even spec more or less comfort depending on your requirements and usage. The KAMM 912c is full ground up restoration and starts by having much of its steel bodywork replaced with carbon-fibre. Various bespoke parts are created in-house where it has been decided that enhancements and improvements can be built in.
The bespoke 2-litre 4-cylinder aircooled engine is a result of a collaboration with JPS Aircooled and allows KAMM to offer their Porsche restomod 912c with a more reliable engine.
Enhanced engines require modern stopping power, and KAMM scrutinises and updates everything from brakes to wheels and tyres through to the chassis itself.

Bespoke Customisation
Lights and fixings are replaced with brand new factory parts. All the while, KAMM aims to monitor weight and keep the 912c as light as is possible during the rebuild.
Every KAMM 912c is built to order and the bespoke customisation options are almost unlimited. The company can even alter the handling of each car for road or track use or a combination of both.
Now KAMM has revealed the full production model of the 912c. Additionally, the car gets electronic fuel injection, and the carbs are replaced with throttle bodies.
A bit more horsepower is freed up and now the 2-litre engine will offer 190hp. At the rear, a touch more refinement has been built into the exhaust set up and the overall engine sound is now a little quieter.
Suspension comes courtesy of TracTive semi-active coilover shocks that are electronically adjustable via a dial offering a choice of 5 settings. Possibly the biggest change is that gear ratios have been altered allowing for improved motorway driving.
A full carbon body is rumoured to be a future option, no doubt lightening the 912c even further.
The KAMM 912c has been described by some as the perfect restomod and I’ve yet to see any review that isn’t positively glowing. So is there a downside? That depends on your viewpoint.
KAMM 912C Price Tag
The 912c itself is simply beautiful, but you do pay for what you get, and if you’ve read this far itching to know how much it costs, well here it comes – you will need to shell out at least £313,000 (depending on spec).
The cavalier in me says it might be worth every penny.
