Pilot mode \u2013 an option which means that, on request, the vehicle can glide fully automaticallythrough traffic without an activedriver.Seat configurations have also been created with such capabilities in mind, as drivers switching to the automatic mode can then rotate seats inward by 25 degrees to make a more lounge-like atmosphere. The ID. Pilot Relax mode also means seats can be adjusted individually and can even be reclined.The ID. ROOMZZ features an 82-kWh battery and offers a rangeof 450km (WLTP) before rechargingis necessary. It can also becharged to 80% of its capacity in around 30minutes via fast charging.Describing the vehicle, Klaus Bischoff, chief designer at Volkswagen, said: \u201cThis SUV is a monolith, appearing to be seamlessly machined from one solid block. The battery-powered ID. ROOMZZ moves effortlessly \u2013 silently and without emissions.\u201dThe ID. ROOMZZ is not the only notable SUV to be debutedaround Auto Shanghai, with MercedesBenz also using the event as anopportunity to unveil its Concept GLB.
