In the good old days the Essen Motor Show was the place to go for vehicle tuners to show off their genius and invention.
Naturally as the show’s popularity has increased, some major manufacturers have taken note.
The show is known as the ‘showcase event of the year for the tuning community’.
With all this in mind it is no surprise that BMW chose this growing event to reveal their new John Cooper Works tuning options for Cooper S (coupé and convertible) and standard Mini, displaying from November 26 to December 4.
JCW Mini Tuning Options
The range of styling and tuning customisation on offer from JCW is pretty mindboggling at the best of times, as a peek at the company’s catalogue will reveal.
New options range from:
- A Cooper S tuning kit
- Exterior carbon mirror caps
- New alloys
- Decal kits.
A sport brake upgrade offers grooved discs with 4 piston fixed calipers in striking Chili Red, while black rear and front spoilers add contrast and a bit of a mean look to the iconic Mini.
A high quality leather steering wheel with matching leather and chrome gear stick are probably the most tactile additions on offer.
However, if being noticed is your thing then JCW offer several new alloy wheel designs in both 17” and 18” formats.
The Cooper S tuning kit (for both 3 and 5-door versions) will increase power from 189bhp to 208bhp.
Alongside this, the valve exhaust silencer will tune your sound to fit your new power, and a new exhaust system will allow you to switch from Sport mode to Track.
Combine this with a track fix for the GoPro camera system and you will be able to continue to look at your rather stylish looking car once you’re back in the warmth of your home.
The Performance Pack will set you back £1,760.
Other options include:
- Illuminated (LED) doorsills and carbon air inlet and exhaust sleeves to match the mirror caps.
- Decals include side striping which manage to look both retro and modern at the same time – which, of course, possibly the ultimate goal of JCW.
JCW are well renowned for their attention to detail and quality and these new options are certainly very worthy additions to an already very impressive choice for the Mini driver.
