In recent years, tuning companies have certainly upped their game and are becoming much more well known to people outside of the motoring industry. In this post, we are going to look at the leaders in this field; Brabus, Nismo and Abarth, and find our favourite!
Brabus
First up is the prestigious ‘BRABUS’, founded in 1977, this company produces high specification Mercedes-Benz, Smart and Maybach cars.
BRABUS aims to get the maximum performance from the existing engine in a car by increasing the horsepower and torque. The 2012 BRABUS Rocket 800 is actually the fastest road legal sedan with a top speed of 230mph!
Nismo
Nismo is best known for its participation in various motorsport events and is in fact Nissan’s in-house division for tuning, motorsports and performance.
Unlike Brabus and Abarth, Nismo produces aftermarket tuning kits and parts for Nissan vehicles. This includes spoilers, diffusers, engine parts and much more.
There hasn’t been many complete cars released by Nismo, but the new 2017 Nissan GT-R Nismo is awesome.
Abarth
Although Fiat may not instantly come to mind when you think of fast cars, Abarth is actually owned by Fiat. You may not realise but Abarth is actually the oldest contender in this line up, having been originally founded in 1949!
The Abarth 695 Biposto is packed with 190hp which is insane for such a small car and this power is evident once you get going.
Our verdict
It is an incredibly hard to decision to pick a favourite as each company offers something completely different. When it comes down to user customizability and their participation in motorsports, the winner has to be Nismo for us!
